Equity Snoopy Butterfly Catcher Animated Keywound Alarm Clock 1980

Sorry, this item has sold.

This clock has the world's favorite beagle gleefully chasing - and never catching - a butterfly with a net. Snoopy's arms are the clock hands. The minute hand is holding the net. The butterfly is on the rim of a clear plastic seconds disc to fly around and around the dial. The blue cardstock dial has mod white numerals and the works sit in a white painted metal case. The red alarm dial shows the alarm set time in a little window at the top of the main dial.

The dial has a 1958 copyright from United Features Syndicate licensing use of the Peanuts character. The movement was made in the Eastern Limited plant in Hong Kong, which made clocks for many American and other brands. There is a date stamp on the movement plate of "80 3" for a production date of March, 1980.

This clock appears as if never used. The dial and hands are all in excellent condition. The plastic dial lens is clear with no cracks and a few small slight scuffs. The chromed bezel is shiny and with no rust or dings. The painted metal case is excellent, shiny with tiny if any imperfections to the paint. The winders and knobs are all present and in bright shiny condition. There is still a model number sticker on the side.

The movement is freshly clean and lubricated and shows no signs of age or wear, but these were not good quality clock movements. Time and alarm are functioning and the clock keeps time, but these are not really long-term reliable timepieces. This is just a fun, cute, collectable novelty clock.

This clock stands about 4-3/4" tall and the face is about 4-1/2" in diameter.
