Panasonic "The Spencer" RC-1091 Mod Black and White AM Clock Radio 1970s

Sorry, this item has sold.

This functioning clock radio has a mod plastic case in smart black and white with softly rounded triangular and trapezoidal shapes. The radio is AM only with one speaker that gets good volume. It has a wire hanger on the back for wall or otherwise elevated use. This is the Midnight Black version; they also came in Antique White or Tangerine.

The plastic case is clean and mostly glossy with minor signs of age and wear. There is one small shallow nick on the top front on the black case. The white textured dial surround is slightly sun-darkened to an ivory color. The plastic dial lens is clean and clear with some fine scratching. The dial is in brightly contrasting unmarred condition. The white hands, hot pink alarm hand and blue sweep second hand are all in fine condition. All knobs are present and undamaged.

The radio is getting good reception and volume wherever there is good AM signal. It has an On, Off and Auto for automatic alarm setting all of which are functioning. The clock is keeping good time with smooth operation of the sweep second hand. The radio was made and assembled in Japan; the clock movement is an M5 variation with timer made by General Time, the parent company at the time of Westclox and Seth Thomas. The vintage cord is clean, intact and flexible.

The clock radio is about 6" wide, 5-1/2" tall and 5" deep.
