The Orb is a smaller clock with a 5" dial. It was produced from 1950 to 1955. This one has "51" stamped on the dial plate for a production date in 1951. It was produced in the Petersborough, Canada Westclox factory. They came in Ivory, Red, Yellow and White; this is the Yellow version.
The stepped, stamped metal case has its original yellow paint, mostly intact and shiny with some dings and persistently adhered enamel paint drips. The sunny yellow has darkened on the top from kitchen environment exposure. The ribbed metal bezel is mostly clean with small paint marks and no dings. The convex glass is clear and bright with no chips or apparent scratches. The printed dial with red hour dots, crisp black deco numerals and red concentric center rings is clear and bright with no evident flaws. The black hands and red open end second hand are in beautiful condition. The metal back plate is in good condition with some persistent wall paint edge marks.
The M4 motor is clean and keeps time quietly with normal rotor spin and smooth operation of the sweep second hand. It has a brand new modern cord.
This clock is a little over 6" in diameter.
